Syndeo Outsourcing is growing! We are a Kansas-based, locally-owned human resources services, payroll services, workers’ compensation and staffing services provider and we are currently seeking to hire a full-time position with a generous benefits package for an entry level Payroll Specialist.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Processing multi-state payrolls
  • Prepare, process and audit payroll and billing adjustments
  • Set-up, audit, and resolve direct deposit payments, rejections, and reversals
  • Process voids, reissues, and manual checks
  • Receive, research and determine/communicate actions on general inquiries from clients and worksite employees
  • Process and respond to wage garnishments and payroll deductions
  • Entering payroll changes (i.e. pay changes, status changes, terminations, etc.)
  • Processing both manual and electronic time files
  • Communicating with clients and employees regarding payroll issues and responding to inquiries via phone and e-mail
  • Participate in and support various projects, as requested
  • Partner with a client service team to ensure company policies and processes are followed

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
  • Strong accounting background or payroll certifications preferred
  • Strong technical skills
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent data entry accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Works independently, and with others, and prioritizes work
  • Ability to demonstrate basic problem-solving skills
  • One year experience with payroll preferred
